When winter gets long, we need to keep those hot drinks on tap. And caffeinated beverages may not be the best way to keep you going all day long.

One great way to help your immune system stay strong and your taste buds happy is to make home-made teas. This is an easy one, it gives you a little jolt of energy and you can also drink it cold. You can add a shot of rum or whiskey with a large ice-cube for a fun adult-beverage.

You'll need:

  • 8 cups of filtered water - start boiling

  • 2 large ginger roots - peel, wash and cut into small cubes or grate. Add to water and simmer for 5 min. (medium heat)

  • 4-8 lemons - enough to make 2 cups of freshly squeezed juice. Add to water and simmer for just a minute.

  • 2 cups of honey - add to simmering tea, keep heat only until honey is dissolved.

Strain and drink, keep in fridge for up to 3 days. You can drink cold or reheat it on the stove.

It's spicy, refreshing and can help with late-night cravings if you have a sweet tooth. Great to drink all the time and keep you healthy loaded with Vitamins during the winter months.

Extra good when you are feeling under the weather. Sip up and cheers to you!
